Sivaganga district police have arrested two juveniles involved in serial thefts in shops across southern districts.A luxury car and a police uniform were seized from them.Police said Kasi operated a used car dealership in Transport Nagar area of Karaikudi. On the night of July 27, the lock of his shop was broken, and a luxury car along with ₹22,000 was stolen. The Karaikudi North police registered a case. Further, a special team led by Sub-Inspector Palanikumar was formed to catch the culprits.During the investigation, it came to light that a 17-year-old boy from Madurai and a 16-year-old boy from Tiruchi had committed the theft. Consequently, the police arrested both of them. The police also seized a luxury car, four mobile phones, knives, and a police uniform stolen from one of the locations.The police said, “The boy from Y.Othakadai, Madurai, has numerous cases against him. He has been continuously engaging in thefts alongside boys he befriended while staying in a juvenile reform school.”Also, a few days before stealing the car, he stole ₹10,000 from a grocery store and an expensive camera from a studio in Madurai. He stole the car together with the boy from Tiruchi. Afterward, travelling in that same car, they committed thefts in three shops in Virudhunagar.
