The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with the Hussainialam police, arrested an alleged local drug peddler and a drug transporter and seized hydroponic marijuana, cocaine and LSD blots worth ₹13.24 lakh.The accused were identified as Mohd. Saif, 31, a resident of Babri Alawa in Charminar, and Sameer Babubhai Waghela, 25, a resident of Kurla West in Mumbai. Police seized 120 grams of hydroponic marijuana, popularly known as OG, five grams of cocaine, 27 LSD blots, two mobile phones and a Maruti Suzuki Baleno car allegedly used in the offence.According to the police, Saif allegedly procured the contraband from an absconding supplier, Aditya, based in Mumbai, through Sameer, who transported the drugs to Hyderabad. Saif allegedly sold the narcotics to consumers in the city through his local network at inflated prices to earn profits.Police said Saif, who worked as a driver, was also consuming hydroponic marijuana, cocaine and LSD. He was involved in two criminal cases registered at Abids and Afzalgunj police stations under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.The arrests were made on July 30 during a special operation carried out near Murgi Chowk in Hussainialam following specific information. Investigators said efforts were under way to trace Aditya and identify other members of the inter-State drug supply network.The Hyderabad police appealed to the public to share information on drug trafficking with H-NEW or the nearest police station, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
