Manchester City and Inter Milan fans who descended on Hong Kong added a splash of blue to the area around Kai Tak Stadium ahead of the evening kick-off between the two teams, with nearby merchants reporting foot traffic three to four times higher than usual.Eight-time Premier League champions Manchester City face Serie A champions Inter Milan at 7.30pm at Kai Tak Stadium in the opening fixture of the Hong Kong Football Festival 2026.Hours before kick-off, fans – predominantly in Man City sky blue and Inter’s traditional blue-and-black jerseys – were spotted in Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui on their way to the stadium.Young couple Li Xinyi and Guo Jiayu, who flew in from Kunming specifically for the match, planned to stay in the city for three to four days.At around 3pm, they were grabbing a bite to eat at Airside, a shopping centre near the stadium.“Honestly, my favourite is Man City’s legendary manager Pep Guardiola. Although we won’t see him today, it’s about sentimentality, so I wanted to come and watch the team play,” Guo said.
