Indian boxer Jaismine Lamboria clinched the gold medal in the women's 57kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2026, defeating Northern Ireland's Michaela Walsh in the final on Saturday.Jaismine took the first round by a split verdict after a close contest with both boxers challenging each other. However, Jaismine won the second round by a unanimous verdict, having landed some hard blows on her opponents. The reigning world champion had booked her place in the final a day earlier with a dominant RSC win over Lesotho's Rapelang Maselela in the semi-final, a result that had already assured India of at least a silver medal in the category.Speaking after her semi-final win on Friday, Lamboria had said she was determined to go all the way. "I'll try my best to win a gold medal for the country. I have to give 100 per cent.
