The Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru (FUAZ), Kebbi State branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened to embark on an industrial action after issuing the university's Governing Council and management a 21-day ultimatum over the alleged failure to implement the 2025 agreement reached between the Federal Government and the union.
The ultimatum, which took effect on July 29, followed a special congress of the union held on July 28 at the university auditorium, where members resolved that failure to address their grievances within the stipulated period would trigger industrial action in line with ASUU's established procedures.
The meeting was attended by members of the ASUU National Visitation Team and the Coordinator of the union's Sokoto Zone.
In a statement signed by the branch chairperson, Danbauchi Senchi, the union accused the university authorities of failing to implement key provisions of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU Agreement despite what it described as explicit directives from the Federal Government for compliance.
