Complaint filed against Purnia MP Pappu Yadav in Delhi over Parliament protestNEW DELHI: A complaint has been filed against Independent Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav at Delhi's Jehangirpuri Police Station over his protest inside the Parliament complex on the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement issue, as reported by news agency ANI.The complaint, lodged by Surya Maithil, accuses Yadav of hurting religious sentiments during the demonstration. Maithil also alleged that several INDIA bloc MPs backed the protest.Claiming that Yadav insulted religious symbols, Maithil said, "The way Pappu Yadav insulted the saffron today and staged the drama outside Parliament, supported by Rahul Gandhi, Dimple Yadav, Awadhesh Kumar and other INDIA alliance MPs, has hurt the sentiments of Sanatanis. During the protest, he even placed a picture of Lord Ram Lalla Virajman under his feet."He said he had sought immediate legal action against Yadav and others, urging Union home minister Amit Shah, the Delhi Police commissioner and other senior police officials to act on the complaint. On Thursday, the Parliament complex witnessed an unusual opposition protest in the form of a street play over the alleged Ram Mandir donation "theft" row. Opposition MPs also demanded that Amit Shah address Parliament over the recent police action against protesting students.Amid slogans of "Chanda chor, gaddi chhod", "Jawab tumko dena hoga" and "Amit Shah, sadan mein aao", Pappu Yadav, dressed as a temple priest in saffron robes, carried a photograph of Lord Ram and enacted a symbolic performance. As fellow opposition MPs, playing devotees, dropped donations into a collection box, Yadav was shown pocketing the money instead, before another MP confronted him in the staged act.(With agency inputs)
