MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman on Friday said the testimonies of the ex-bodyguards of former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co against Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez are backed up by “independent supporting evidence” obtained by its investigators gathering evidence of their plunder case.

Assistant Ombudsman Jose Dominic “Mico” Clavano IV made the remark after Romualdez, a former Speaker, noted that Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla is using witnesses it “publicly discredited.”
