NEA day after reports of an FIR registered in Noida against a woman named Ruchika Singh for “abusing” Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to light, a senior Delhi Police officer said on Friday that the case had been transferred to the Parliament Street police station for further investigation.
When reached for comment, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Sachin Sharma said the case had not yet been handed over to them as of Friday evening. “We will decide the course of action once we get it,” he said.
On Wednesday, the U.P. police registered a zero FIR , t the Expressway police station, based on a complaint by a Ghaziabad resident, Smriti Singh.
The complainant alleged that Ms. Ruchika Sused “abusive and objectionable” language against Mr. Modi, thereby undermining “the dignity of the constitutional office”. She claimed that the remarks were intended to “spread hatred and disrupt public peace”.
