An officer with the Ontario Provincial Police is facing multiple assault charges in connection to a traffic stop in January where he discharged “a conducted energy weapon.”
The OPP officer was in an unmarked cruiser when he initiated a traffic stop on Jan. 2 on Yonge Street in North York, according to police.
“Victims had no prior interaction with the accused,” Peel Police said in a press release.
The lawsuit was filed by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Staff Sergeant Roberto Manca.
