July 31 (UPI) -- CBS placed NFL broadcaster Tony Romo on indefinite leave after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence last week, the network announced Friday.
Former Houston Texans star J.J. Watt will fill in during Romo's absence. He will join the crew that includes Jim Nantz and Tracy Woflson.
"Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice," the network said in a statement.
Romo, 46. was arrested July 23 in Milwaukee. He was pulled over at about 5:30 p.m. local time while driving south on Interstate 43. An arrest-detention report said the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback "performed poorly" in field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody, but later released.
