The United States has celebrated Nigerian-American physician and entrepreneur Dr Ikenna Okezie for his contributions to transforming kidney care and expanding access to healthcare across the country.
The US Mission in Nigeria highlighted Okezie’s work as the CEO and co-founder of Somatus, a healthcare company focused on providing in-home dialysis support and other care services for people living with chronic kidney disease.
It wrote, “Nigerian-American physician and entrepreneur Dr. Ikenna Okezie is transforming kidney care as CEO and co-founder of Somatus, a company providing in-home dialysis support for patients with chronic kidney disease. Through innovation and a commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare, his leadership is helping improve lives and reshape care delivery across the United States.”

Through Somatus, Okezie is helping develop new approaches to kidney care that allow patients to receive greater support in their homes while improving access to quality healthcare.
