Ahead of Google’s Pixel 11 launch, 9to5Google has obtained an image of a new tracker called the “Google Pixel Tag” which has also started to appear in online listings.
Through its work on the Find Hub network on Android, Google has yet to release its own first-party AirTag competitor. That’s seemingly about to change.
Mentioned on some early Pixel 11 listings that we first reported on earlier this month, the “Google Pixel Tag” hasn’t surfaced prior to now. However, there are now online listings popping up for the tracker, carrying the model number GA12506, the marketing name “Google Pixel Tag,” and the color “Fog Light.”
As pictured above, we’ve also obtained an image of the tracker.
The “Pixel Tag” has an oblong shape that’s unique, as most other trackers are circular or squar-ish. Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag also has an oblong shape, but the “Pixel Tag” appears taller, almost like the shape of the Fitbit Air without its band. Google’s tracker also seems to lack any sort of built-in mounting mechanism, likely relying on cases similar to Apple’s tracker.
