All Black Supporters wait inside the stadium for the arrival of the New Zealand All Blacks during a welcome event in Cape Town yesterday.
A roaring sea of All Blacks jerseys welcomed the New Zealand rugby team to Cape Town yesterday afternoon ahead of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.
The Kiwis touched down in the Mother City this week and received massive support as they launched their tour in front of hundreds of supporters who flocked to DHL Stadium for the event.
It was certainly a strategic move by the All Blacks, and the welcome they received will give them a boost ahead of their battle with the world champions, starting with the first Test on August 22 at EllisPark. Before that clash, three matches await against the South African URC franchises, beginning with the Stormers next Friday.
It’s part of the reason they touched down in the Mother City, where fans chanting “All Blacks, All Blacks” as the players walked out, singing both versions of the New Zealand national anthem in full voice and even performing the Haka. it showed that Cape Town will be their home away from home.
