Peacock finally turned in a profitable quarter, Comcast (CMCSA) reported in its latest earnings report, thanks in no small part to Spanish-language World Cup viewing, the NBA Finals and the latest season of "Love Island USA." But those are all over, and there's not a lot left for viewers in August.
The "Love Island USA" Season 8 cast will return for a reunion show (Aug. 31), and there's the Season 2 of the British cyber-spy show "The Undeclared War" (Aug. 27), but that's about it for new series. On the movie front, Peacock has the rom-com "You, Me & Tuscany" (Aug. 7), starring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page, and a trio of late-July streaming releases: the indie horror hit "Obsession," the WWII drama "Pressure" and the videogame adaptation "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie."
There are also new episodes of cable and network shows, including "America's Got Talent," "Real Housewives," "Married at First Sight" and "The Valley," and a slew of live sports, including Major League Baseball, WNBA, cycling (women's Tour de France starts Aug. 1, while Spain's La Vuelta starts Aug. 22), motorsports, swimming, gymnastics, women's soccer, the return of Big 10 football (Aug. 29) and a new season of English Premier League soccer (Aug. 22).
