Ukraine’s assault regiments have reportedly been ordered to suspend the intake of newly mobilized personnel and transfers under a directive attributed to Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapaty, according to Ukrainska Pravda.The outlet, on Friday, citing sources in four assault regiments, reported that the order took effect at midnight on July 26.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.According to one source, assault units can no longer receive personnel from reserve battalions or territorial recruitment centers.Another source told the publication that transfers from other military units have also been suspended.“A decision by the Commander-in-Chief has suspended the supply of personnel to assault units of the Ground Forces from 00:00 on July 26,” the source told Ukrainska Pravda.The source added that the only remaining route into the units is through the Army+ program for service members returning after unauthorized absence before June 12.Report follows scrutiny of assault regimentsAccording to Ukrainska Pravda, this is the first reported decision by Ukraine’s top military command to restrict personnel replenishment for assault regiments.The outlet noted that the 425th “Skala” Assault Regiment and the 225th Assault Regiment had previously enjoyed expanded recruitment opportunities unavailable to other assault units.Ukrainska Pravda reported that the 425th Regiment grew from its intended strength of about 3,000-4,000 personnel to more than 10,000 troops.
