Russia has extended its ban on exports of gasoline, diesel, and several other petroleum products until January 31, 2027, while easing restrictions for direct fuel producers on certain products for a shorter period, according to a government announcement.
Under the decision, limits on exports of diesel, marine fuel, and gas oil shipped directly by producers will remain in place only until September 1, 2026. The broader restrictions on fuel exports, however, will continue for another six months beyond that date.
The Russian government said the move is intended to protect the domestic market and ensure a stable fuel supply.
"Fuel exports are permitted in accordance with international intergovernmental agreements and for the provision of humanitarian aid to foreign countries, based on government decisions," the government said in a statement.
Officials added that the restrictions were introduced "to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market."
