A Russian ballistic missile destroyed a family home in the village of Radushne in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region during a large-scale overnight attack on July 30, killing at least six members of one family, while rescuers continued searching the rubble for additional victims.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the missile struck with such force that the house was almost completely obliterated.
"The impact of the Russian missile was so powerful that almost nothing remained of the house," Zelensky said. "Fragments of human bodies were found beneath the rubble, and only forensic examinations can determine which family members the remains belong to."
According to local media, at least six relatives had been confirmed dead by early evening, although the identification process was still underway.
Zelensky identified five of the victims as the parents, Olena and Artem, and three of their children: Mark, Azarii Ilai, and Emilia. At the time of his statement, the bodies of five other children from the family - Zakharii, Dominika, Federika, Viorika, and the couple's 18-month-old grandson Artem - had not yet been identified. With almost nothing left of the home following the direct hit, all five were feared dead.
