Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria, will headline the public presentation of 999, the latest memoir by Charles Oputa, an iconic entertainer, social activist and television personality, who is popularly known as Charly Boy.
The public presentation, which will hold at a special event in Lagos, is dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Chukwudifu Oputa, a late renowned Nigerian justice and father of Charly Boy.
The event is scheduled for Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Alliance Française de Lagos/Mike Adenuga Centre, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, and promises an unforgettable evening where legacy meets literature, storytelling inspires reflection and advocacy drives social impact.
The presentation, to be led by Obasanjo, will honour the memory of Justice Oputa, whose unwavering commitment to justice, integrity and the rule of law left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s legal and democratic history. It will also celebrate the remarkable life journey of Charly Boy, an unconventional public figure whose fearless advocacy, artistic expression and unwavering commitment to social justice have influenced generations of Nigerians.
