On the night of July 31, Ukrainian defense forces struck the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in Volgograd, Russian Federation; the Pole-21 electronic warfare complex near Holubivka in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region; and other enemy military targets.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
The General Staff noted that Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. Its refining capacity is approximately 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The facility produces automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel. It is involved in supplying the needs of the Russian army.
A direct hit on the facility was recorded, followed by a fire on the premises. The extent of the damage is being assessed.
The Russian Pole-21 electronic warfare complex in the Holubivka area of the Luhansk region was also struck.
