Polish police have arrested a 40-year-old man in the Nowy Sącz County of the Małopolska Voivodeship in southern Poland on charges of publicly calling for the assassination of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and insulting him on social media.
According to Ukrinform, police spokesperson for the Małopolska Voivodeship Katarzyna Cisło announced the arrest, as cited by RMF24.
Cisło said investigators gathered evidence of the man's activity on social media and charged him with public incitement to commit murder and insulting the President of Ukraine.
During questioning, the suspect admitted his guilt and expressed remorse.
"The man explained to the police that he acted under the influence of emotion and regretted what he had done," Cisło said.
