BYD is preparing to move humanoid robots into real-world commercial settings.
The Chinese electric vehicle leader said on social media that a humanoid robot developed in-house would make its first public appearance at its D Space facility in Zhengzhou in early August. BYD confirmed the information to IPO Zaozhidao.
The appearance would mark the first time BYD has officially presented a physical, operable prototype of a humanoid robot.

According to information previously released by D Space, the robot is nicknamed “Xiao Di” and is positioned as a service humanoid robot. It stands 1.61 meters tall, weighs 58.5 kilograms, and has 31 degrees of freedom across its body. Each hand has seven dexterous degrees of freedom.
