Ekiti State Government has directed allottees who have abandoned their plots in government residential estates across the state to begin development on or before August 30.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Lands, Surveys and Geographic Information System, Prof James Olaleye, cautioned that failure to comply would result in revocation of the allocations and forfeiture of title to the government.
Olaleye, who issued the directive in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, stated that the affected estates included those in Ado Ekiti, Ikere Ekiti, Ikole Ekiti, Ijero Ekiti and Omuo Ekiti.
He said, “Some allottees in the estates have exceeded the approved period for developing their allocated plots, leaving many sites abandoned, undeveloped and overgrown.
