The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest near the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters on Thursday demanding the resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains over alleged leaks of recruitment examination papers in the poll-bound State. Leading the protest, Delhi BJP chief Harsh Malhotra alleged that there have been six paper leaks under the AAP dispensation over the past four-and-a-half years.Delhi BJP general secretary Vishnu Mittal said people across the country, especially the youth, have been shocked by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s “initial silence and subsequent attempts to deny” the alleged leaks.“When the issue of paper leaks arose at the national level, AAP was the first to block roads, create disruptions, and demand the resignation of [then Union Education Minister] Dharmendra Pradhan. They delivered lectures on morality and accountability. But I ask AAP: what has happened in Punjab over the last four-and-a-half years?” said the Delhi BJP president. He added, “The Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test paper was leaked. The Class 12 English examination paper was leaked. The Pharmacy Officer and (Punjab Subordinate Service Selection Board) PSSSB recruitment examination papers were also leaked. The future of thousands of students is at stake. Who is responsible? The answer is Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.” Published - July 31, 2026 01:22 am IST
