I have no objection to temporarily withdrawing Todd’s name, if they do not do the right thing, and putting him back after Cornyn and Tillis are out of office.”The nomination is currently stalled by Senators Cornyn (R-Texas) and Tillis (R-N.C.) over concerns regarding a proposed $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization fund" and a provision granting Trump perpetual immunity from IRS audits. The "anti-weaponization fund," originating from a settlement between Trump's legal team and the IRS, was intended to address claims of government "weaponization," but critics feared it could be used to reward January 6 rioters and Trump allies.Despite assurances from the White House and Blanche that the fund is "dead," Senators Cornyn and Tillis are demanding written guarantees that it will not be established and that the IRS audit immunity provision is permanently removed.
