Dhaka Bank PLC has signed a master trade loan agreement with Mashreq, one of the leading financial institutions in the UAE, to facilitate trade and strengthen the bank’s access to international financial support for cross-border transactions.Osman Ershad Faiz, managing director of the bank, and Sharifa Mohamed, regional head of FI for Asia at the UAE-based financial institution, signed the agreement at the bank’s head office in Dhaka on Tuesday, according to a press release.Speaking on the occasion, Osman Ershad Faiz expressed his appreciation for the continued partnership with Mashreq and highlighted the importance of such collaborations in expanding trade finance capabilities and delivering greater value to customers.The agreement represents a significant step in advancing the institutional partnership between Dhaka Bank PLC and Mashreq, UAE, while reflecting the confidence and mutual trust built over three decades.It marks another milestone in the longstanding partnership between the two financial institutions, which dates back to 1995.Akhlaqur Rahman, deputy managing director of the bank; Abu Jahid Ansary, head of the international division; Suvadeep Sinha, senior vice-president of corporate credit at Mashreq, UAE; and Fahmida Sharmeen, chief country representative of Mashreq Bangladesh, along with other officials from both organisations, were also present at the signing ceremony.
