Continuing with its crackdown on nutraceutical firms, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the license of Dior Pharmaceuticals from immediate effect following an inspection of its manufacturing unit. It has also issued prohibition orders against Vatave Health Care and Neuherbs True Vitamin.In a social media post, the food safety authority said that during the inspection of Dior Pharmaceuticals’ unit major and critical non-conformities were observed regarding overall regulatory compliances, which are in violation of core provisions of the FSS Act 2006. This included infrastructure, sanitation & housekeeping, pest control, storage & handling practices, process controls, personal hygiene, water quality monitoring, maintenance and records.High Risk“The unit was engaged in the manufacturing of nutraceuticals, which is a high-risk category of food intended for human consumption, hence the deficiencies pose a significant risk to public health,” it added. The FSSAI has suspended Dior Pharmaceuticals license and directed the company to immediately cease operations till corrective measures are taken.Meanwhile, the food safety regulator has issued a prohibition order to Vatave Health Care for the manufacturing, distribution and sale of Folineuro Syrup , Folic Acid Syrup. The product’s front-of-the-pack labelling of the product made misleading claims about improving brain and neuro functions.“The product has been classified as Nutritional Food Supplement, whereas no such category exists under the FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Special Medical Purpose, Functional and Novel Food) Regulations, 2016,” it added.It has also directed Global Healthfit Retail India Pvt Ltd to stop the sale of its product Neuherb True Vitamin for misleading brand name “True Vitamin” which violates the provisions of the regulations. It has asked the company to remove misleading name and claim and take corrective action and submit an action taken report within 30 days. Published on July 30, 2026
