ALBAWABA - Mediator Pakistan says that peace talks between the U.S. and Iran are still ongoing despite the two sides exchanging heavy attacks.The war continues as the U.S. and Iran trade strikes with the latest target for the Iranian regime being Jordan, targeting the country with heavy strikes on U.S. positions.Along the usual players, two new parties have joined the war directly; Saudi Arabia joined the fray as an aggressor, targeting Iran-aligned militias across Iraq with heavy strikes, and Egypt as a target who was hit for the first time ever in the war after a drone targeted a U.S. ship in its port city of Damietta.Despite the war escalating further and further, Pakistan insists that its doing its utmost to restart the peace process, claiming that talks are ongoing despite the attacks, stating:"Negotiations between parties are ongoing, particularly on (the) Strait of Hormuz and to de-escalate," Pakistani foreign ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi told reporters in Islamabad.At its weekly press briefing on July 30, Pakistan's Foreign Office said it is doing its "utmost" to bring the US and Iran back to the negotiating table under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed June 18.
