Traditional landowners at the centre of a decades-long dispute with billionaire Andrew Forrest’s Fortescue have vowed to appeal a record $150 million compensation payout awarded by the Federal Court.

The Yindjibarndi traditional landowners on Thursday confirmed they would lodge an appeal over the amount of money awarded to the group in May this year over widespread damage by Fortescue to their land.
