Didi Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, on Wednesday admitted that her office failed to carry out adequate due diligence before approving the staffing structure and recruitment waiver for the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, saying officials relied on forged documents presented by the promoters of the organisation.
Appearing before the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the activities of the PFIPC and the N1.3 billion appropriated to it in the 2026 budget, Walson-Jack acknowledged that greater scrutiny could have exposed the fraudulent documents before approvals were granted.
