In a 2021 appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, the actress opened up about the difficult circumstances that pushed her towards acting.Mahima revealed that she lost her father when she was only five months old. Her mother, who worked at an NGO, raised her and her elder brother while managing the family's responsibilities. According to Mahima, her mother always wanted to become an actress but could not pursue that dream, which encouraged her to guide Mahima towards acting.The actress recalled that she began attending auditions at the age of nine. She would go to school for half a day, travel across Mumbai by bus for auditions and return home exhausted.
