A dog has been put down after attacking a young girl at a Bunnings in Victoria’s west. The girl was bitten on the lower leg at a Bunnings in Delacombe, a suburb southwest of Ballarat, about 11.10am on Wednesday. Advanced Life Support paramedics treated the girl, who was taken to Ballarat Hospital in a stable condition. A Bunnings spokesman confirmed the incident occurred at the Delacombe store and would support an investigation into the incident. “Our thoughts are with the young girl and her family following an incident at our store,” they told NewsWire.“We understand the child was bitten by a dog and was treated by emergency services before being taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.“We will support the relevant authorities with their inquiries.”City of Ballarat director of development and growth Natalie Robertson said the council attended the Bunnings store and had launched an investigation into the dog attack. “The City of Ballarat can confirm it attended a dog attack incident in Delacombe on Wednesday morning involving a dog and a young girl,” Ms Robertson told NewsWire.
