A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death after he objected to the alleged molestation of a woman by a group of boys inside a park in north-west Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on Wednesday afternoon.The police have apprehended a minor in connection with the case and efforts are under way to trace the remaining accused, said an officer.According to Delhi Police, a PCR call reporting the stabbing was received at 3.33 p.m., following which a team reached Khimman Singh Park.The victim was identified as Sunil, 30, a native of Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh.According to the police, the woman, a resident of Jahangirpuri, said three to four unidentified boys approached her and Sunil inside the park.An altercation broke out after they allegedly tried to molest her. The police said the woman told them that one of the assailants attacked them with a knife before fleeing.Sunil sustained multiple stab injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed during treatment. The woman also sustained injuries, the officer said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigation is under way.“A case has been registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Bharat Nagar police station,” said Akanksha Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West).
