The Federal Government has approved ₦46 billion for the resurfacing and reconstruction of the second runway at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this during the commissioning of the remodelled Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo Domestic Terminal at the airport.

Keyamo said the approval was granted by President Bola Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda to strengthen airport infrastructure and enhance the aviation sector.

According to him, the runway project will improve operational efficiency and position the Kano airport to compete with other international airports.
