July 29 (UPI) -- The cast and crew of Young Sherlock have started work on Season 2.

Prime Video announced in a press release Wednesday that is has resumed production on the action-mystery series that imagines the origin story of detective Sherlock Holmes.

Young Sherlock is based on the Andrew Lane book series, which is in turn inspired by the Arthur Conan Doyle novels. Hero Fiennes Tiffin stars as a teenage Holmes attending college at Oxford University.

Created by Matthew Parkhill and developed by Guy Ritchie and Peter Harness, the show also stars Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes, Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes and Holly Cattle as Beatrice Holmes.
