The Toronto mayor’s comments come ahead of a scheduled debate on Billy Bishop at city council on Wednesday.
Mayor Olivia Chow insisted Wednesday that the waterfront belongs to the city and its residents — not Premier Doug Ford and his vision of an expanded Billy Bishop airport.
Chow added that she’s also lost confidence in the city’s appointee to the board that oversees the island facility, to represent the municipality’s interests.
