A 22-year old nurse working at a private hospital near Marthandam fell from the second floor of the hospital, while allegedly using her mobile phone and died in the late hours of Monday.According to police, the deceased was identified as J. Ashika, 22, from Attoor. She was working at a private hospital in Vettuvenni. It is alleged that Ashika reportedly fell from the second floor of the hospital and died.On noticing the incident, hospital staff rushed her to the government hospital in Vettuvenni, where doctors declared her dead.Upon receiving the information, Marthandam police rushed to the spot, conducted an inquiry and sent the body to Kanniyakumari Government Medical College and Hospital in Asaripallam for post-mortem examination.A case has been registered under the section 194 of BNSS and further investigations are under way.
