The share of marine product exports through Visakhapatnam Port in the total marine product exports of the country stood at 49 per cent in FY 2025-26, according to the Center’s response to a question in the Lok Sabha.As per the government data, the share of exports jumped from 29 percent in FY2024 to to 50.87 per cent in FY2025 and was at 49 per cent in the last financial year.“The sharp increase reflects the renewed momentum witnessed under the TDP-led NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh, transforming Visakhapatnam Port into a major driver of India’s seafood exports,’’ said a government release. Export GatewayThe Visakhapatnam Port serves as a key export gateway under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. To strengthen exports, it is supporting producers through domestic and international exhibitions, the ODOP Bazaar, buyer-seller meets and engagement with Indian Missions abroad, expanding market access for Andhra Pradesh’s products. It had identified 99 ODOP products across its 26 districts, reflecting the State’s focus on promoting local industries and expanding export opportunities through value-added products.Published on July 29, 2026
