MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) is set to establish an Energy Center for Excellence following the opening of its first-ever Energy Museum, Secretary Sharon Garin said Tuesday.
Garin, during the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, said the center will serve as the country’s premier hub for training, professional development, and technical capacity building for the energy sector.
“This is just one-third of the Energy Center for Excellence, Mr. President,” Garin told President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The center will also house an Energy Academy and research and development facilities, which Garin said are part of the department’s long-term vision of strengthening the country’s energy sector.
