The annual best doctor awards given by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Tiruchi Branch, were presented during the National Doctors Day celebration held in the city recently.The Best Doctor Award in Rural Service 2026 was conferred on Manimegalai Yeganathan in recognition of over 35 years of dedicated general medical practice in Mela Kalkandarkottai near Tiruchi.The award, sponsored by K. Rajamani, former Collector, Tiruchi, was conferred on Dr. Manimegalai Yeganathan for serving generations of families with unwavering commitment.Dr M.S. Ashraf Doctors’ Day Awards 2026 were presented to G. Surendra Babu, Kumudhini Balasubramanian, M. Sivasankaran, G. K. S. Sudhager, Kumaresan Rajendrane, M. Senthilvel, A. V. Subrahmanyan, A. Mazharunnisa Begum, G. Senthilkumar and A. Thangavel, according to a communication from IMA.Delivering the key note address on the theme of ‘Trust, technology and touch: Redefining the doctor-patient bond in the AI era,’ S.
