RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel recently met Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent during his official visit to the Central Asian country.
AlJalajel conveyed the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the president, along with their wishes for his continued health and success, and for further progress and prosperity for Uzbekistan and its people.
The meeting reviewed the longstanding ties between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, and highlighted the rapid growth of bilateral cooperation.
The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in the health and investment sectors, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
Priority areas included digital transformation, healthcare system development and modernization, pharmaceutical regulation, training and capacity building for healthcare professionals, and plans to establish a multidisciplinary hospital in Uzbekistan.
