Russia's FSB has charged Telegram founder Pavel Durov with facilitating terrorist activity, alleging the app aided Ukrainian spy operations inside Russia.
A popular dating chatbot, Daivinchik/Leo, was allegedly used by Ukrainian spies to recruit young Russians into committing sabotage and terrorist acts.
The FSB said 46 Russians aged 12 to 22 were arrested after being recruited through the chatbot to attack infrastructure and law enforcement.
Despite Russia effectively blocking Telegram, state bodies including the Kremlin and defence ministry continue to use the platform daily via VPN.
