London (AFP) – Three-time major winner Padraig Harrington was named on Wednesday as a vice-captain of Europe's team for the 2027 Ryder Cup in his native Ireland.

Issued on: 29/07/2026 - 12:05

Harrington joins the Molinari brothers, Edoardo and Francesco, on Luke Donald's backroom staff for the tournament, which will be played at Adare Manor, in Limerick, from September 17 to 19 next year.

Team Europe will be chasing a third consecutive victory against the United States following wins in Rome in 2023 and at Bethpage Black in 2025.

Harrington, 54, was part of the Europe team on the only previous occasion the Ryder Cup has been played in Ireland, in 2006.
