President Volodymyr Zelensky paid respects to the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham during a special memorial service in Washington, saying that the best way to honor the Senator's legacy is to accomplish what he fought for, particularly when it comes to Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky shared the remarks on Facebook.
"I paid my respects to the late Senator Lindsey Graham at a special memorial service in Washington D.C. It was only recently that we saw each other, and it is deeply symbolic that Senator Graham’s last trip abroad was to Kyiv. We talked about important things – continued support for Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia.
We can see those efforts becoming reality now. And I believe that is the best way to honor his memory: to accomplish what he fought for, particularly when it comes to Ukraine," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian President stressed that the United States has all the necessary tools to prevent Russia from dragging this war out.
