Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated the Niger State Police Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) and commissioned 12 operational vehicles to strengthen the command’s capacity to tackle violent crimes across the State.

The ceremony held at the State Police Command Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura, Minna, was attended by Yakubu Garba, the Deputy Governor; Mohammed Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly; the Commissioner for Homeland Security; and other senior government officials.

Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, the Commissioner of Police, welcomed the governor and expressed appreciation for the State government’s continued support for policing and public safety.

Elleman commended Governor Bago for consistently providing operational vehicles, logistics and other critical resources that have enhanced the command’s operational effectiveness and emergency response.
