Chennai-based multi-asset alternative investment firm Anicut Capital has announced the launch of its ₹175 Crore Grand Anicut Seed Fund (GASF).The fund, which included a greenshoe option of ₹75 Crore, will focus on pre-seed to series A investments across Deep-tech, Enterprise-tech, Consumer and Financial Services start-upsThe firm plans to invest in over 20 start-ups with ticket sizes in the range of ₹5 to 8 Crores. This is Anicut’s second fund for Early-stage Investments.businesslinehad earlier reported that the company is in the process of raising four new funds with a combined target corpus of about ₹3,000 crore which will inculde three equity-focused and one private credit fund.In a media release, Anicut said that it is targeting a first close of GASF soon, with a target Limited Partners(LP) mix of Institutional Investors, HNIs, Domestic & Foreign Family Offices. It has already started deploying some of the capital and closed three deals.Anicut has been investing in early-stage equity since 2021 through Grand Anicut Angel Fund (GAAF), which has made 68 investments to date ranging from pre-seed to pre-series A across deep-tech, enterprise tech, consumer and financial services start-ups.Some portfolio companies under GAAF include Agnikul Cosmos, GIVA, CapGrid, InspeCity, Leumas, Neeman’s, Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters, Snapmint, Salty, GRIP, Galaxeye, E-plane and E-trnl.Published on July 29, 2026
