ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says ANC members appearing before the Madlanga Commission must account for themselves, insisting party membership or leadership positions will not protect anyone from scrutiny
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has backed the work of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, saying its progress has shown that the process is producing results while calling for policing reforms to be implemented before the commission’s final report is released.
Speaking during a media briefing on Tuesday, Mbalula said the commission had been established to deal with important issues affecting the criminal justice system and should be allowed to complete its work.
He said the ANC had supported the establishment of the commission from the outset and believed its work should not be undermined.
“What is encouraging is the fact that a commission that is established to do important work, you can see the results, you can touch it. It is not a witch-hunt but dealing with facts,” Mbalula said.
