Since the start of her musical career in 2011, hundreds of similar leaks have occurred.” Grande further claims that the defendants “sold the stolen information and content on the dark web for significant sums of money.”The complaint says, among other things, that in 2019, the Dropbox account of a photographer she worked with was hacked, and the photos stored there were leaked. A year later, the phone of a producer she worked with also was hacked, and songs in various stages of production, as well as footage from the recording studio, were stolen.The hackers stole, distributed and unlawfully used materials that had not yet been released (Photo: Theo Wargo/GettyImages)The most recent incident occurred in 2024, according to Grande, when the defendants allegedly created accounts impersonating a photographer who worked with her and tricked the digital technician he employed into sending them materials belonging to her.According to a source close to the star, she is determined to publicly reveal the defendants’ identities in order to deter other hackers.“The lawsuit is intended to serve as a deterrent against future acts of this kind, and it does not concern only Ariana but also many other artists who have faced similar violations of their privacy and theft of their work,” the source said. “Artists deserve the right to control how and when they share their art with the world.
