Highs of 25C are on the cards in Wales, with Northern Ireland and Scotland expected to be a fair bit cooler.Temperature anomaly maps show central, eastern and southern England shaded in dark red later today. This indicates where temperatures are expected to rise well above the seasonal average.‌An official heatwave is declared when temperatures hit the heatwave threshold for three consecutive days. The threshold stands at 28C in and around London, where conditions tend to be warmer, and drops to 25C the further away from the south-east you are. Thus, heatwave conditions are only expected in England this week.In total, the GFS model suggests 11 counties may see temperatures reach 35C or more today.
