A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly has disclosed that the House under the leadership of the Speaker, Mr Olamide Oladiji, had not held a plenary session more than five times this year.

The crisis in the House began when 21 out of 26 members signed the impeachment of the Speaker over an allegation of financial misconduct.

The Speaker was alleged to have diverted a sum of N44m for reordering the budget of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.

To this, the angry members gave the speaker till Sunday to resign or face impeachment on the floor of the House in their next sitting.

The lawmaker, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Tuesday, said the Assembly only had caucus meetings but not real plenary sessions on the floor of the Assembly, accusing the speaker of misleading the House.
