Starmer's childhood home is sold weeks after going on market for £650k

Sir Keir Starmer's 'pebble-dash semi' childhood home has sold within weeks despite its hefty price tag and a stagnating property market.

The former Prime Minister, replaced in Downing Street this month by Andy Burnham, grew up in a three-bedroom pad in leafy Oxted, Surrey.

It went up for grabs last month for £650,000, two and a half times the national average.

Now, according to the home's Rightmove listing, it has been sold subject to conditions.

Sir Keir has often spoken of coming from working class roots as the son of a nurse and a toolmaker, though Oxted has been rated one of the UK's most desirable towns.
